A tractor mowing grass caught fire in a field in Lamerton yesterday (July 13).
At 11.22am fire crews from Tavistock and Yelverton were mobilised to the field of cut grass.
On arrival they found that the tractor was well alight.
Working with a hose reel jet, a foam jet and wearing breathing apparatus, they extinguished the fire in under two hours.
The tractor sustained significant damage in the fire, which is confirmed to have been accidental.
