A barn was saved from fire by swift action from firefighters this morning (Thursday, January 13) in Winkleigh.
The fire service received a report of a tractor on fire at 7.19am and crews from Barnstaple, Chulmleigh and North Tawton were sent to the scene.
On arrival, they found the tractor to be well alight - and the fire had already started to spread to an adjacent barn.
Working fast, firefighters stopped the spread and extinguished the fire using hose reel jets while wearing breathing apparatus.
By 9.51am the fire was out.
The tractor was destroyed and the barn sustained minor damage.
The cause of the fire was deemed as accidental.
