FIREFIGHTERS were called to two fires in the space of half an hour in the Wareham area on Sunday evening.
The first call came in at 6.26pm on Sunday (September 24) to a skip fire in Trinity Lane, Wareham.
A crew from Poole were sent and on arrival found the skip was “well alight” and extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and one main line.
Crews also checked the surrounding area for any fire spread, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) said.
After that at 7.11pm, Poole fire station was called to a car park at Stroud Bridge, near Lower Hyde Heath, to a tractor on fire.
The fire crew, along with one from Wareham, extinguished the blaze usinjg two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets.
DWFRS added that the tractor was made safe and cordoned off.
The tractor fire comes at a time when farmers in rural Dorset have been busy during the harvest season, which will run throughout October.
