DEVON and Cornwall Police Rural Crime Team have released a warning that some criminals are now using Covid 19 to exploit the vulnerable.
They have warned that scammers have been using many different approaches, with one specifically targeting farms and small businesses.
This scam includes trying to obtain bank details by contacting the victims and claiming to be arranging grants.
The Police have issued the following advice:
- Never disclose security details
- Don't assume an email, text or phone call is genuine
- Don't be rushed
- Listen to your instincts
- Stay in control
