FIREFIGHTERS were called out on a mercy mission to release a trapped cow.
The animal was stuck between two trees in the river at Muchelney Road, Huish Episcopi.
Fire crews from Somerton and Bridgwater attended the incident shortly before 7am on Wednesday morning.
They released the cow using small tools.
