A barn, 100 tonnes of hay and straw plus vehicles near Chulmleigh were totally destroyed by fire yesterday morning.
The fire broke out in a barn on the road from Borne Cross to Coles Corner in Bridge Reeve.
At half past seven on Tuesday morning Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue sent a fire engine from Chulmleigh, one from South Molton, a water bowser from Barnstaple and the incident support unit from Bovey Tracey.

As the building was unstable, the crews continued a watching brief through the afternoon to make sure that the fire did not spread.
A further fire engine from Witheridge relieved the crews over night.
The barn and its contents were completely destroyed by fire.
