A BARN suffered significant damage in a fire near Westonzoyland on Sunday night (August 30).
Firefighters were called out to Lakewall at Westonzoyland shortly before 7pm, with crews from Bridgwater, Taunton and Nether Stowey attending.
The barn which was full of hay was well alight and had starting spreading to some nearby trees as the firefighters arrived.
By 8pm the crew were making steady progress and managed to stop the fire spreading along the trees.
The firefighters continued battling the barn blaze late into the evening.

Relief crews helped battle the fire overnight and didn't leave the scene until 6.34am on Monday morning.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "In total five hose reel jets, one dam, and one set of lighting were used at this incident.
"The barn and the hay was 100 percent damaged by the fire. The incident was handed over to the farmer.
"This fire was believed to be an accidental ignition."
