The South West Farmer Awards 2020 have been cancelled.
With restrictions on social gatherings increasing due to the coronavirus pandemic, the celebratory black tie event ceremony in Taunton planned for November has been cancelled.
Sales direcot for South West Farmer, Brian Fisher, said: "In these difficult times, it will come as no surprise to hear that we have decided to cancel the awards ceremony this year.
"With numbers of cases of coronavirus currently rising and restrictions of social gatherings in force, there is no alternative.
"We'd like to thank all those people that have nominated farmers across the south west for awards to tell us about their dedication and skill.
"We're also keen to thank our sponsors for their support.
"We will miss meeting you all this year but look forward to doing so as soon as it's safe to do so."
The nominations for the 2020 awards will be put forward to next year's awards.
