A farmer and tractor driver have been reported by police for not securing a load on a trailer.
This morning (April 8) Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team saw the tractor and trailer on a road and pulled the driver over to point out that the piled up load was not secured in any way.
After the police stopped the driver, the farmer attended, but they say he was "uninterested in the matter".
Officers described the reason that the trailer's load was a hazard, using the example of a recent road traffic accident in Netherexe involving another agricultural vehicle with an insecure load.
The farmer insisted that the load was safe.
Officers did not agree and reported both him and the driver of the tractor.
Sharing the photo on Twitter, police said:
This tractor & trailer had no securing ratchet straps. Farm owner turned up uninterested in the matter. Our recent agricultural vehicle insecure load RTC in Netherexe was highlighted & he replied that this load was secure (it isn’t..). Both driver and farmer reported.4300/3656 pic.twitter.com/ruGaDzI21D
