Crews battled a fire in a barn full of hay and straw near Corfe Castle on Monday (July 5).
The fire broke out in a barn on the Wilkswood Farm Road between Harman's Cross and Swanage
Residents in the area were advised to keep their doors and windows closed and motorists were asked to take care due to the large amount of smoke.
Fire crews from Wareham, Swanage, Charmouth, Sherborne, Wilton and Poole attended the fire that lasted hours.
Fire engines, water carriers, a Land Rover and the Unimog were all needed to bring the fire under control.
The fire burnt through the afternoon into the evening, when a watching brief was then needed.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews currently dealing with a large fire involving hay and straw bales just off of Valley Road between Harman's Cross & Swanage.
"Please be aware there may be large amounts of smoke in the area, be careful if driving in the area, and keep doors and windows closed if you live nearby."
