Firefighters have shared dramatic photos of a barn full of hay and straw that caught fire in West Crewkerne this morning (July 7).
At 7.10am crews from Beaminster, Crewkerne, Yeovil, Chard, Martock and Street were mobilised to reports of the barn fire in Misterton.
They found the barn fully alight and had to move the 50 tonnes of hay and 50 tonnes of straw into a nearby field using farm machinery.
The cause is believed to have been spontaneous combustion of the hay and straw bales.
