Levy payers are at the heart of everything we do, so it’s only right that we give you a greater voice in how we spend your levy.
In April this year AHDB levy payers will be able to have their say and influence the work AHDB does across the beef, lamb, dairy, pork and cereals and oilseed sectors. They will be able to tell AHDB what the major challenges are across the industry, what work they want AHDB to focus on what services they want delivered in the future.
That might be defending the reputation of the industry through marketing campaigns such as, We Eat Balanced, highlighting the benefits of eating beef, lamb, pork, dairy and cereals to consumers at home, or AHDB’s work to open up new export markets overseas.
It might be the market data, analysis and insight AHDB provides to aid business decisions, the technical advice, guidance and manuals to develop pest and disease management strategies and nutrient plans or the opportunity to learn from other farmers and experts at AHDB events, or through their Strategic and Monitor Farms.
Or it could be AHDB’s work on genetic improvement for livestock or the Recommended Lists and trials for arable, the carbon auditing services to help businesses become more sustainable or even the Farm Business Resilience tools and consultations on offer to help farmers prepare for the loss of the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS).
To have a say on what services AHDB offers, levy payers need to register at ahdb.org.uk/shape-the-future. Registration should take no more than five minutes but needs to be completed by 31 March. AHDB will then be in contact when it’s time to have a say from 11 April for four weeks. For any questions, get in touch via: ShapeTheFuture@ahdb.org.uk
