This amazing photo shows the tug-o-war style rescue of Doug, a horse trapped in a stream in Sturminster Newton.
On Monday (February 14) the fire service was called with a report that a 15 year colt was in trouble.
A technical rescue team from Poole and a fire crew from Blandford were mobilised.
It seems that Doug had broken through a fence in his field and ended up trapped in a tributary of the River Stour.
It took 12 crew members using animal rescue equipment and a sled to successfully get Doug out of the water and back into his field.
A spokesperson for Poole Fire Station said: "Crews remained on scene to help get Doug back on his feet and after dark Doug was successfully returned to his stables a little worse for wear but we are glad to say he is doing OK."
