Bird flu has been confirmed at a second site in Devon.
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 has been confirmed in birds at a premises near Tedburn St Mary, Teignbridge.
Defra reported yesterday (Thursday, April 7) that a case was suspected at the premises.
A vet alerted the Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) to their suspicions of bird flu at the site and the CVO agreed.
Defra this morning confirmed that bird flu is present on the premises.
All of the birds have been culled.
This comes as birds on premises just seven miles away near Newton St Cyres were culled after H5N1 was confirmed yesterday morning.

A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone have replaced the 3 and 10 Temporary Control Zones put in place around the site near Tedburn St Mary.
The 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone are also in place around the site near Newton St Cyres.
These zones are intended to prevent the spread of the disease by introducing strict measures for poultry owners in the marked areas that include keeping records of visitors, poultry and any movement of poultry and eggs, along with employing tight biosecurity and the isoltaion or housing of birds.

This latest confirmation brings the number of confirmed cases of the highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 in England to 92.
