The largest machinery sale in the south west broke records last week.
The Walford Cross Machinery Sale saw almost 2,500 lots, of which more than 66 were large items of machinery, sold in under nine hours.
It took a team of ten auctioneers from Greenslade Taylor Hunt to manage the considerable number of lots at this, the 67th sale.
The sheer number and quality of lots on offer resulted in a record-breaking total.
The sale was held on April 7 in a field between Bridgwater and Taunton.
The trade of the day went to those items that are currently well ‘in season’ with ample tedders, rakes, balers and silage trailers creating the most spirited of bidding.
A great selection of tractors from farmers across the south west, which included two dispersal sales, topped at £24,000 for a New Holland T6080, a 14 Plate Toyota Hi Lux at £14,250, a Case CS105 Pro at £13,000, a Case 5150 at £12,000 and a Case 4240 with loader £11,200.
