The South West Limousin show and sale at Holsworthy saw excellent trade on Wednesday (May 25).
A top call of £4,200 was achieved twice for two spectacular bulls, ‘Nealford Rugby’ on behalf of JH Neale and Son and ‘Killerton Rhodes’ sold by Mr and Mrs Greed of Columbjohn Farm Limited.
227 store cattle forward saw stronger finishing cattle topping at £1,380 for a 19mth Hereford steer from Messrs AG and JW Prouse of North Tamerton who also topped the heifers this week at £1,320 for a 23mth shapely Simmental.
A strong entry of 250 calves saw an overall top price of £540 achieved twice for reared British Blue bulls in from RG and GG Tucker and Son of South Molton.
A strong trade for prime hoggs saw a top per kilo of 301p on behalf of Mr R Squire of Honeychurch.
The heavies topped at £175 for Paul Berry of Barnstaple.

608 new season lambs saw pen after pen realising £145 to a top of £148.50 for two pens of 45.8kgs in from Mike Huxtable of Huntshaw.
268 draft ewes met a flying trade with an overall average of 122.70ppkg.
Top on the day was £164.50 for a Charollais in from Rod Wood of Holsworthy.
An outstanding annual consignment of couples from Bradworthy Young Farmers Club saw a tremendous trade - with Dan Heard of Kilkhampton taking the best with his treble making £510, double at £420 and a cracking single at £390.
