A debut collective machinery sale in East Devon filled the field with potential buyers last week.
Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt's first collective machinery sale was held at Newcott Farm, Yarcombe, Honiton, with the kind permission of the Parris Family.
Despite two other local collective sales within 10 days the auctioneers were astounded by the support from local farmers who filled the field with 35 tractors and vehicles, 150 lots of machinery and 200 lots of miscellaneous items.
A large crowd ensured spirited bidding with a huge number of buyers attracted to the sale field and on the Marteye bidding portal from across the entire UK and Ireland.
Top of the day was £47,200 for the Fendt 724, £22,000 for a JCB TM320S, £20,800 for a Massey Ferguson 5455 and £19,700 for a Fendt 510.
Top prices within the machinery lines sold to £14,000 for a Kuhn power harrow, £10,600 hi-spec slurry tanker and £9,000 for the NC dump trailer.
The trade remains buoyant and all eyes are looking ahead to the next two collective machinery sales – October 13 at Sedgemoor Auction Centre and October 21 at Chepstow Racecourse.
