A Land Rover driver "caused carnage" on the M5 as his trailer littered the road with wooden posts.
The driver was towing a trailer between Junction 27 and 26 ysetrday (Tuesday).
The trailer was stcaked high with nearly 200 large and heavy wooden fence stakes - each one sharpened to a point.
The ties holding the load in place loosened and the fence posts were spilled into the carriageway.
Miraculously, it appears that there were no injuries caused to other drivers.
Police stopped the driver of the Land Rover and has has been reported for an insecure load that is likely to cause injury.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team shared a picture of the load, and described the driver as having "caused carnage".
The driver of this vehicle caused carnage on the M5 between J27 to J26 by not securing his load. The result was having wooden posts falling into the carriageway stopping traffic.
