North Devon fire crews were called to a barn fire in the middle of Monday night.
Just after midnight the fire service was called with reports of a shed on fire on Hall Hill in Brendon.
Subsequently, fire engines were sent from Lynton, Porlock and Combe Martin, along with an officer.
However, when they arrived they found that the burning building was in fact a barn. It was well alight so a water bowser was mobilised from Barnstaple.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews tackled the fire with hose reel jets - but could not prevent the roof and first floor collapsing into the building.
A crew from Minehead relieved the initial teams, dampening down and monitoring hotspots with a thermal imaging camera.
