Reports of a tractor on fire near Chard were dealt with in a refreshingly straightforward way by firefighters on Monday (November 7) - a bucket of water.
Just before 9am a tractor was reported to be on fire in Bishopswood.
As is the practice when dealing with large mechanical fires, fire control sent two fire engines from Chard and a water bowser from Yeovil.
When the first crew arrived, they stood the other crews down while they looked for any signs of fire.
On discovering a small fire within the tractor's dashboard, they applied the timeless strategy - a bucket of water.
After checking the rest of the machine with a thermal imaging camera, all was found safe.
The fire was confirmed as accidental.
It's certainly a better outcome for firecrews than other machinery fires they have had to tackle recently.
