As more thefts of tractor equipment are taking place, farmers in Devon and Cornwall are being urged to be on alert.
Over recent weeks there have been more thefts of tractor global positioning systems. Agricultural precision guidance systems for farm machinery are frequently stolen due to the kit being easy to move and having high value.
Police are encouraging farmers to remove items and equipment when not in use, where possible, and to consider ways to mark their property.
There is also, police say, an emerging trend of barns and outbuildings being broken into. While numbers are currently relatively low, officers are nonetheless reminding farmers to secure their buildings, machinery and vehicles.
Most recently thieves have hit farms in the East, Mid and West Devon areas but farms in West Cornwall have been targetted, too.
