A DEVON charity tractor event returned with a vengeance recently to celebrate its 20th anniversary, following a three-year hiatus.
The popular Colyton Vintage Tractor Run, usually annually, was cancelled in 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic but was finally rectified this month with an excellent turnout.
Starting at Colyton Playing Fields on Sunday, June 11 crowds gathered to support the event with all funds raised going to The Brain Tumour Charity.
The route took drivers and their passengers — in various size trailers — to Beer, through Seaton, Axmouth, Musbury and Whitford, before heading back to its starting point.
Locals were out in force at various points along the route to wave and cheer those taking part in the event that would have celebrated a landmark 20th year in 2020.
A member of the organising team, Kevin Salter, said: “This was the first event for three years with new committee members and a change in the route by introducing a halfway halt, so it gave people time to talk and meet friends, which was very popular.
“The Brain Tumor Charity was a good cause and we hope to give them a large donation.
“There were 97 tractors that took part, some with trailers filled with relations, friends and dogs having a really good time and, of course, it was the 20th anniversary run so each driver was given a medal.”
