A CARBON project development company, Re-generation Earth, has announced the launch of a carbon credit marketplace that offers landowners the opportunity to generate £100 per tonne of carbon.
Unveiled at Groundswell 2023, the new platform enables landowners to sell credits they earn from managing their land in a more sustainable way and puts additional profits back into farmers' pockets. The company's pioneering £100/tonne price for carbon credits is the highest return currently available and will, they claim, see farmers selling their credits for around 4 or 5 times the current market value elsewhere.
The concept behind the Re-generation Earth marketplace is to incentivise the adoption of genuine, effective, sustainable practices such as regenerative agriculture, tree planting, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity net gain.
By connecting landowners, individuals, and companies with global buyers, Re-generation Earth caters to the increasingly high demand to reduce impact on the environment. By investing in carbon reduction and sequestration programmes, landowners can benefit from an additional, steady source of income while simultaneously tackling climate change.
Re-generation Earth founder Richard Bowe said: "This platform gives landowners and other entities a chance to benefit from a form of conservation that has such a positive effect on our planet. Farmers can now sell their carbon credits for a tidy sum, while buyers can purchase these credits to offset their own emissions."
The Re-generation Earth platform offers ease of navigation, with the ability to manage all carbon credits in one place and they say it provides buyers with a simple, assured, user-friendly experience. Re-generation Earth say the launch of the platform and the price offered to farmers is revolutionising the carbon credits market and has the potential to make a huge difference in the fight against climate change.
