The Texel Sheep Society production sale rom the Loosebeare and Whitehart flocks saw a 100% clearance for the 50 gimmers offered, peaking at 3200gns for one from the Quick family’s Loosebeare offering.
Sale leader was QEL2212705 a daughter of the homebred Loosebeare Chief out of a dam by another noted homebred sire, Loosebeare Voomer. She was taken by Southern Irish
breeder Ryan Greene, Culdaff, Co Donegal.
Second best at 1500gns was one from father and daughter Jim and Nicki Hartwright’s
Whitehart draft. This was HWN2206189, a Brijon Deal Breaker daughter out of a dam by
Cherryvale Shergar and she was bought by The Dorrell family for their Stonegrove flock,
Shrawley, Worcs.
Following her at 1150gns was QEL2212582 from the Quicks, with this one being a Teiglum Cosmic daughter out of another Loosebeare Voomer-sired dam. She found a new home with Ross Edwards, Frome.
A pair then followed at 1100gns, with the first of these being another from Whitehart,
HWN2205999. She’s by the homebred Whitehart Dynamo and out of a Millar’s Abu Dhabi-sired dam. She was another to find a home with the Dorrell family’s Stonegrove flock.
Second at this level was another from Loosebeare and heading to Ireland to join Ryan
Greene. This was QEL2212480 a Whitehart Class Act daughter out of a dam by CrookholmBouncer.
Reflecting a solid day’s trading for the two flocks, a further eight then sold at 1000gns, with four of these from Loosebeare and four from Whitehart, including daughters of Brijon Deal Breaker, Loosebeare Chief, Roxburgh Danny Boy and Brackenridge Eddie.
Averages; 25 Loosebeare gimmers £1041.60, 25 Whitehart gimmers £913.50
