Calling all farmers! Cornwall Council alongside the Council of the Isles of Scilly and Cornwall’s Local Nature Partnership, is embarking on an exciting journey to craft a brand-new Local Nature Recovery Strategy for our region.

Over the past 50 years we have seen huge declines in our wildlife. This strategy will be a road map to help us all play a vital role in rejuvenating and nurturing nature right here across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. When this strategy takes root, it will chart the course for WHAT actions to take, WHERE to focus our efforts, and HOW to bring back the thriving natural landscapes we cherish. Given we are predominantly a farming region in terms of land use working positively across the farmed landscape and with its communities is key to unlocking nature recovery across the southwest region as we look into the future.

Over the upcoming 12-18 months, this strategy will take shape with input from various quarters, including our resilient farming community, businesses, local communities and environmental organisations. We're all in this together, and we value your insights to help us design a roadmap towards our ambitious goal of nurturing 30% of our land for nature by 2030.

Your participation matters greatly, and there's a fantastic way to make your voice heard. Join us in shaping the Local Nature Recovery Strategy by taking part in the survey and exploring the interactive map. Let's collaborate to create a greener, healthier future for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

What you have been doing to grow nature on your farms, what are your future plans, what are the opportunities you have, what funding do you need? From changes in management like min till, integration of herbal leys and mob grazing practices to larger interventions like tree planting, hedgerow creation and going organic we want to hear what might work for you and how to deliver it.
