THREE men have been charged with poaching, after police received reports of men suspected to be illegally trying to catch rabbits yesterday afternoon (October 29).
Amesbury Police were called to the incident near the A303, Amesbury, in fields just south of Stonehenge.
Lewis Hughes, 26, Jack Cooper, 21 and James Kempster, 36, were charged with daytime tresspass in pursuit of game. They are due to appear in court next month.
The force worked alongside the Wiltshire Rural Crime team to deal with the incident.
A spokesperson for Amesbury Police said: "Lewis Hughes, 26, of no fixed abode, Jack Cooper, 21, of Romsey and James Kempster, 36, of Southampton were all charged with daytime trespass in pursuit of game under S30 of the Game Act.
"They have been released on bail and are due at Salisbury Magistrates Court next month; Hughes and Cooper are due to appear on November 21, while Kempster is due to appear on November 24."
