WHY do tractor drivers persist in treating fellow road users with such contempt and disregard?
It is an all too familiar picture - tractor trundling along, driver totally oblivious of what's going on behind, or more to the point not overly concerned, followed by a procession of anything up to 30 cars, all anxious to get about their daily lives but unable to pass.
I could understand if there weren't suitable pull-ins along their route, but when there are they choose to completely ignore them and just keep right on going!
In the days when they would drive a few miles from field to field it was less of an issue, but due to modern methods of farming with larger fields and greater distances to cover, they spend far longer travelling creating ever growing 'car congers'.
We are constantly being told to 'Back British Farmers', but they are certainly not helping their case with this ever present selfish and inconsiderate behaviour. Pull over and let others pass, you are not the only ones with business to attend to!
