WE have partnered with Devon YFC to feature a young farmer club of the month. This month we are taking a look at the wonderful work of Chumleigh YFC...
ALTHOUGH they’re a small club, Chulmleigh YFC have kick-started the new YFC year with a bang! From a new members evening and pumpkin carving, to public speaking competitions and attending the Harvest Service at Exeter Cathedral, it’s been a busy start to the year.
Recently, the club organised a Charity Tractor and Land Rover run in memory of much-loved YFC supporter Rob Pincombe. They raised an amazing £2,927.99 which will be split between Cancer Research UK, Children’s Hospice South West and the local hospital charity ‘Over and above’.
Immy Dart, Chulmleigh YFC Club Secretary said: “We would like to thank everyone who entered vehicles for the run and supported us along the route. We had an amazing number of vehicles participating, totalling to just under 150!”
Chulmleigh YFC have also been busy getting involved with the carnival season. Their float for this year had the theme ‘100 years of Disney’ and was awarded first place at the recent Okehampton Carnival.
Immy added: “We look forward to continuing our successful run of activities and are already busy organising upcoming quizzes, charity fundraisers and North Devon’s Field Day for next year! Don’t forget that it’s not too late to sign up, we’re always looking for new members to join in.”
