NINE newly qualified registered veterinary nurses (RVNs) were recently honoured at a 'celebration of achievement' day.
Students, members of staff and industry representatives acknowledged the nurses and their years of hard work and dedication.
The RVNs, from Duchy College Rosewarne, were presented with certificates by veterinary surgeon and director of Beacon VetCare, Colin Whiting.
He said: "I was thrilled to be invited to the college and welcome the new generation of qualified registered veterinary nurses to the industry, it's vital that we celebrate their well-deserved success.”
Mel Clear, head of veterinary nursing at Duchy College Rosewarne, said the day was 'a special moment of recognition'.
“I am immensely proud of these dedicated individuals who have completed their training and are now embarking on a fulfilling journey in veterinary nursing," she added,
"Witnessing their growth and commitment has been truly inspiring.”
Since gaining his Level 3 Veterinary Nursing qualification, student Luke Shaddock has secured the position of a branch lead nurse at Clifton Villa Veterinary Practice and is currently progressing on the Level 5 Advanced Veterinary Nursing at Duchy College Rosewarne.
Luke said: “Throughout the years, the college has been a fantastic source of support and I’m optimistic that completing the advanced qualification will open more doors for me within the industry.”
