A DOG was rescued by a forklift truck from a slurry pit in rural Dorset.
Firefighters were called to help a terrier which had become stuck in slurry in Martinstown.
The dog was rescued by a farmer using a telehandler - a type of forklift truck used in agriculture.
A telescopic handler, or telehandler, is a hydraulic lifting machine used to carry and place heavy materials.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to Martinstown at 10.14am on February 15 where a terrier was in some slurry.
"A crew from Weymouth attended and the dog was brought to safety by the farmer using a telehandler."
