THE new secretary of the Royal Cornwall Show has been revealed.
Mark Stoddart, currently society manager at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, is set to take over the role from Christopher Riddle, who is retiring after 35 years as secretary of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association (RCAA).
When Christopher announced his retirement, the search began for a new secretary - for the first time in more than three decades. Recruiters Hanover Fox were appointed to oversea the process.
Mark, who has more than 18 years of experience delivering the Great Yorkshire Show, has also held the position of national chairman of the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO) and a number of other related roles.
The RCAA said they are 'looking forward to welcoming Mark and his wife Amanda to Cornwall'.
Mark will shadow Christopher at the 2024 Royal Cornwall Show, before joining permenantly in August and taking over the role officially from Christopher when he retires at the end of September.
