A YOUNG Farmers club is headed to the national finals of a drama competition for the first time ever.
Totnes Young Farmers have been working hard on their production, Home Is Where The Heart Is, which is about a boy from Devon who takes a job in the city as an environmental consultant.
The group took part in their first competition in Plymouth on February 4, where they came first. Hannah Roberts-Cossey was nominated for best actress and James Caunter and Jake Richards were nominated for best actors.
The Devon YFC County round was then held in Paignton, and again, the club took first place.
At the South West Area Finals weekend, held between March 1 and 3, where the team came second. Totnes won best moment with Jake, James and Lily. Hannah Roberts-Cossey won best actress and Henry life was nominated for best actor.
A spokesperson for Totnes Young Farmers said: “What an achievement! We are extremely proud to be going to the National YFC Finals as the two top teams qualify from the South West Area Finals.
“This is the first time in history Totnes Young Farmers has made it this far. We are going to Nationals! We can’t thank everyone who has supported and cheered us on along the way enough.”
The national finals takes place on April 20 and 21 at Leamington Spa.
