A PIECE of land with planning permission for a four-bedroom house in Somerset exceeded its guide price at a recent sale.
Organised by Greenslade Taylor Hunt (GTH), the spring land and property auction took place at Batch Country House in Lympsham, near Weston-super-Mare.
The plot, which extended to approximately 0.48 acres (0.19 Ha) in total, exceeded its guide price of £250,000. The successful buyer purchased the land, which is in the heart of West Pennard near Glastonbury, for £265,000.
Also sold on the day were two pieces of land at Mark Moor in Mark, Somerset. Land which extended to 14.43 acres at Little Moor Road went for £186,000, which was £30,000 more than its pre-sale guide price.
Another plot of 9.49 acres at River Road, Mark Moor, sold for £165,000 from a pre-sale estimate of £110,000.
Robert Baker, auctioneer, said: "We held a bumper spring land and property auction. Some excellent prices were achieved from a packed room of potential buyers, as well as bidders both online and on the phone.
"It was good to have a large entry of land lots, which were sold to a range of farmer buyers and investors which ensured competitive bidding throughout.”
GTH's next sale takes place at The Shrubbery Hotel in Ilminster on April 25. Another one is scheduled for May 22 at Aldwick Estate, Redhill, Blagdon, Bristol. Both sales will start at 2pm.
