THERE were successes all round as farm dispersal sales took place earlier this month.
On Saturday, April 13, Symonds & Sampson agricultural auctioneers dispersed sheep equipment near Beaminster on behalf of Chedington Court Estate.
“The equipment had been very well maintained and presented and included every item a self-respecting sheep farmer would need," said Greg Ridout, head of department.
"A large crowd came along, and prices were good as a Polaris 570EFI, 28ft livestock box, sheep handling equipment and livestock sundries went under the hammer."
Trade was also strong at the dispersal of the Holland Farms Friesian Holstein dairy sale in Dorchester at the beginning of April. The herd drew interest both online and onsite, with 61 cattle selling at more than £2,000, with a top price of £2,520.
Symonds & Sampson’s spring diary of sales has already taken them from as far afield as Kings Somborne near Winchester through Dorset and Somerset and into mid Devon.
