FOUR farm shops in the south west have come out top in the 2024 Muddy Stilettos awards.
Now in their 11th year, the winners are decided by readers of the lifestyle website. There are 21 different categories, and businesses are picked in each region across the UK. One of those categories is Best Farm Shop/Deli, and so we have decided to take a look at the winners in the south west.
Dorset, Somerset and Bristol
The best farm shop in Dorset, Somerset and Bristol is Newton Farm Shop in Newton St Loe, near Bath. The shop sells beef, pork and lamb which is reared on the farm. Newton Farm Shop offers home delivery and has a cafe on site.
The team said they are 'extremely proud' to win the award.
"We’re a small, family-run business focused on selling our own farm produce direct to our customers, alongside products from local suppliers, and this award gives us a boost to know that people like what we’re doing," they said.
"We believe in producing the best quality meat and fresh fruit and vegetables on our regenerative farm on the outskirts of Bath, whilst also supporting local businesses and our local community.”
Cornwall
The winner of Best Farm Shop/Deli in Cornwall is Boscastle Farm Shop in Boscastle. They are a traditional mixed farm and sell home reared beef, lamb and pork, as well as homemade pies, cakes and more. There is also a cafe on site.
A spokesperson for the farm shop said: “We are delighted to win the Best Farm Shop & Deli in Cornwall award with Muddy Stilettos. It is a credit to our hardworking team, who keep raising the bar in producing high-quality produce.
"The butchery counter highlights our Red Ruby Beef that graze the fields of Boscastle, as well as our award winning handmade Pork Sausages, and everything in between. Our fresh fruit and vegetables are sourced as locally as possible and the deli counter is jam packed with homemade produce, from award winning pasties and pies to sweet treats and cakes.

Wiltshire
The winner of the Best Farm Shop/Deli in Wiltshire is The Old Forge Farm Shop & Cafe in Salisbury. They sell deli products, fruit and vegetables and have a cafe on site.
A spokesperson for the team said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award for the second year running and would like to thank all of our wonderful customers for their support."
Devon
The winner of the Best Farm Shop/Deli in Devon is Strawberry Fields in Lifton. The farm shop is a family-run business that started as a farm growing seasonal fruit and vegetables. It has expanded to a 200 acre farm that grows food for the farm shop and restaurant, as well as runs events for the community.
A spokesperson for Strawberry Fields said: "Being named "Devon's Best Farm Shop/Deli" feels amazing and makes us incredibly proud. We're so thankful for the support of our loyal customers and the hard work of our team at Strawberry Fields Lifton.
"This award shows that our dedication to providing top-notch products and service is paying off. We're inspired to keep improving and serving our community even better in the future."
