A FARM in Devon is hosting a open day, so visitors can have a chance to take a look at a rotary parlour.
GEA Farm Technologies (UK) Ltd and Venture Dairy Services are holding the open day on Thursday, May 30 from 10am until 2pm.
Hosted by Blake Farming Ltd, the day will be at Appledore Farm in Crediton.
Blake Farming Ltd operates a 600 autumn block calving dairy herd farming over 500ha across two dairy herds. Cows are fed in the winter on a high forage diet and housed in sand cubicles.
Farmers will be able to view the GEA T8500 Rotary Parlour, which is a milking system that is custom-built to suit farming goals. The T8500 is designed specifically for pasture-based farming operations.
In addition to the 64-stall parlour, there is other equipment to view including the double beam carriage, feeding, automatic cup removers, milk meters, cluster drop, automatic teat sprayers, cow retention, auto identification, herd management system, automatic plant washer and auto sorting system.
To book a place, RSVP before May 25. To RSVP email Simon Hoare at simon.hoare@gea.com or call 07742 782518.
