A LAW firm has recently appointed an agricultural lawyer and former tenant farmer.
Mogers Drewett, a south west legal and financial planning firm, has welcomed Tracy Neal to the team.
Tracy, who has joined the team as a partner from Battens Solicitors in Dorset, was a tenant farmer on a mixed farm in Hampshire, where she kept cattle and sheep. She is also a former professional showjumper and grew up on her family farm in New Zealand.
Tracy believes agriculture and habitat creation can work hand in hand and this shows at her smallholding, where she had planted 100 trees and plans to plant 100 more.
"Farming is in Tracy's blood," said Frank Collins, head of Mogers Drewett's agricultural law team.
"Having been a tenant farmer herself, Tracy really understands the pressures that farmers face and the legal issues affecting rural businesses.
"Her wealth of legal expertise and unrivalled sector knowledge will be invaluable to us as a firm and the many agricultural clients that we represent across the south west."
Tracy is a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association (ALA) which is the UK's largest inter-professional organisation devoted to the law and business of agriculture.
Mogers Drewett has offices in Bath, Sherborne, Wells and Frome.
