Devon & Cornwall Police has announced the winner of its Name Our Tractor competition at Woofstock Festival.
Back in May, local children 12 and under were given the opportunity to name the new tractor, with nearly 300 entries submitted.
The winning name, Inspector Moors, was chosen by assistant chief constable Glen Mayhew from the list of entries.
It was thought up by seven-year-old Eloise Bettison, who was inspired by the idea of a tractor inspecting the moors.
The John Deere tractor was loaned to Devon & Cornwall Police by local agricultural machinery dealership Masons Kings.
It will be used by the Rural Affairs team for engagement at various local events throughout the summer.
Eloise was invited with her family to Woofstock Festival to officially unveil the tractor's new name.
Passionate about farming, she admitted she was thrilled to be selected as the winner and couldn’t wait to share the news with her school friends and teachers.
Devon & Cornwall Police constable Clarke Orchard said: "The response to the competition was fantastic!
"There were almost 300 entries in total and several suggestions that would have made excellent names.
"On Saturday, at Woofstock Festival, we revealed that Eloise was the winner of our competition with Inspector Moors - a truly deserved win, and those of us old enough to remember the popular detective series Inspector Morse will appreciate the clever play on words."
He further added that Inspector Moors will play a significant role in engaging with the community, allowing meaningful conversations about combating rural crime.
Besides, the tractor's distinctive police livery has already sparked interest since its debut at the Devon County Show in May this year.
This new name is expected to involve even more.
Alan Rowdon, group agricultural sales manager at Masons Kings, said: "The aim of our partnership with Devon & Cornwall Police was to support and stand in solidarity with our farming communities in the fight against rural crime.
"We are very proud of the response and the efforts of Devon & Cornwall Police on this campaign and would like to pass on our congratulations to Eloise for coming up with the fantastic winning name, Inspector Moors."
Future plans for Inspector Moors include an appearance at the Yealmpton Show on Wednesday, July 31.
