PLANS to build 80 new homes near Warminster are continuing to face strong objections from statutory authorities, including town councillors.
On Monday, June 17, they unanimously objected to plans by Legal & General Modular Homes for the new homes on land close to the Malaby Biodigester.
The company, based at Sherburn in Elmet near Leeds, wants to build the modular homes on land at Bore Hill Farm, Deverill Road, Warminster.
The company resubmitted plans for the new housing in September 2022 after withdrawing a previous application for 95 new homes.
The Environment Agency, Wiltshire Council’s highways department, the local MP, and nearby residents have already objected to the plans.

Warminster town councillors voiced major concerns about potential over-development and a lack of facilities to meet the demands of the proposed new properties.
The council said: “It was noted that many of the statutory authorities had already objected to the application, citing the proximity to the Malaby Biodigester and proposals for a bulk energy storage system.
“Concerns were also raised over potential problems with drainage and access.”
Members unanimously objected on the same grounds to which they had objected to the previous planning applications.
They added their objection to the bulk energy storage system and its associated environmental risks.
Wiltshire Council is expected to make a decision by Monday, July 8.
