AN agricultural building near Bridgwater could be set to become a new farm shop and 28 storage units.
Plans submitted to Somerset Council by A L Butcher & Sons Ltd seek permission to convert a former poultry building on Little Clayhill Farm, Charlynch Lane, in Cannington.
The applicant states that they hope to convert the building due to the poultry farming business declining in recent years, which has made it harder for them to make a living from.
It is proposed that a small section of the existing building will be used as a farm shop, complete with retail area, a service point, and chiller store - and will sell produce from the farm itself.
The remainder of the building would be used to accommodate 28 storage units for public use.
If plans are approved, access to the site would remain via the existing 'established access road'.
