Despite heavy downpours, hundreds of cheerful people turned out for Stithians Show 2024.

Wellies, coats, and umbrellas were essential gear for attendees attending Cornwall’s largest one-day agricultural show.

The day began with a march where the president of the Stithians Show officially opened the event and hoisted the Stithians Agricultural Association flag, the Union flag, and the St Piran flag.

Farmers around the Duchy and Devon brought their prize-winning cattle with them, as well as sheep, goats, pigs, and some rare breeds.

However, this year the organisers of Stithians Show announced that due to the constraints of Avian Influenza at the time of planning this year’s show, they decided not to run the poultry section in 2024, but they hope for it to return in 2025.

The day ended with a traditional evening concert hosted in the Farmer’s Kitchen Marquee featuring the Mousehole Male Voice Choir, under the direction of Stephen Lawry, and St Stythians Band, under the direction of James Burns.
