DUNSTER Show is back for its 176th year next month, and this year's offering is jam-packed with family-friendly entertainment.
The traditional agricultural show will take place on Friday, August 16, on the lawns below the "magical" Dunster Castle. It has all the family favourites you would expect, including horses, cattle, sheep, a shopping village, a fairground, and more in the main ring.
Dunster Show calls itself "a celebration of all that is great about the countryside" and showcases traditional crafts, vintage tractors, and the modern machinery used today.
Tickets are £20 at the gate, which opens at 8am, or £18 in advance at www.thedunstershow.co.uk. Children under 16 can enter for free with a paying adult. Free parking is available.
This year the main arena attractions include the world’s premier military-style motorcycle display team, the Imps.
Famous for their red jackets and striking white helmets, the team will have the crowd on the edge of their seats.
A "majestic" falconry display will be performed by Hawkeye Falconry, offering visitors the chance to get up close to some wonderful birds of prey.
The show will have its "ever-popular" vintage machinery parade, horse, cattle and sheep parades for the crowds.
For those that prefer shopping, set around the main ring is the shopping village with local and national businesses selling everything from modern-day agricultural machinery to hand-crafted jewellery, country clothing, range cookers and pottery.
The Food and Craft Halls have treats and temptations, from oysters and champagne to cheese and cider, handmade jewellery to fine art.
Horses and ponies are shown in several rings, including some prestigious qualifying classes for the London International Horse Show.
You will also find many traditional breeds including local favourites the Exmoor Ponies and the popular Shetlands.
A bustling livestock show has cattle, sheep and fleeces being presented as well as a spinning demonstration.
Family fun can be found on Dunster Show's Village Green, with Punch & Judy, fairground rides, a community circus, live music, and bar and food outlets creating a lively buzz.
Organisers of the show said: "The magical Dunster Show truly has something for everyone and is an amazing celebration of West Somerset and Exmoor rural life. A must day out for visitors to the area and locals alike."
