DEVON farmers, join us at our upcoming Agri-Events, a programme uniting farmers and industry experts through interactive workshops. The events, hosted across South Hams, West Devon, Mid Devon, and East Devon, focus on sharing experiences and exploring strategies for increased profit, productivity, sustainability, and resilience. Previous topics include alternative routes to market, soil microbiology, and grazing management.
James, a South Devon farmer, shared: "Networking at these events always offers a new perspective. It encouraged me to continue on the regenerative path." Rosie, another South Devon farmer, added: "Great insights. It's an opportunity to chat with local farmers and experts in the field. Come along!"
Next Workshop: Circular Economies and Farm Diversification
The next workshop, 'Circular Economies and Farm Diversification,' will be held in West Devon on Thursday the 12th of September at Hayes Meadow Organic, run by Graham & Jocelyn Macklin. Specialising in Red Ruby beef, Hayes Meadow Organic exemplifies regenerative farming, promoting biodiversity and grass-fed meat's health benefits. They transform all parts of the animal into valuable products, including cooking oils, cosmetics, and supplements, supporting local abattoirs and sustaining the local farming related business community. Their solar-powered facility produces soaps, deodorants, and skin creams, utilising beef ‘waste’ and fostering a closed-loop economy. Hayes Meadow Organic's commitment to regenerative agriculture is endorsed by the Soil Association and A Greener World. Their diverse range of products includes meat boxes, charcuterie, pantry staples, and skincare products, showcasing an innovative approach to sustainability.
