SOMERSET students are celebrating this week after receiving their BTEC results.
Pupils at Bridgwater & Taunton College's Cannington Campus recieved their results on Thursday (August 15).
There was a 94% pass rate in the BTEC Extended Diploma in Agriculture, and 48% of students achieved high grades.
Of those students, nearly half are going on to complete a Agricultural Management Degree at the University Centre Somerset, and others have secured paid employment within the farming industry.
Claire Winson, Head of Animal and Environmental Sciences, said: “We are delighted with this year’s results, which reflect the hard work and dedication of both our students and staff.
"The ongoing support from key industry partners has played a crucial role in ensuring our students are well-prepared to succeed in this dynamic and evolving sector.”
Elsewhere in the college, students achieved an 100% pass rate across 21 A-Level subjects, with a number of subjects achieving 100% A*-C grades. And a high proportion of students achieved a distinction in their T Level results.
Andy Berry CBE, principal and chief executive of BTC, added: "Results day is always a big day for students and everyone who’s supported them on their academic journey.
"Their hard work and dedication has paid off, I’m excited to see them progress to prestigious universities or begin promising careers.”
