A FATHER and son duo from Somerset are showcasing their talent for restoring vintage tractors online.

Tobias (Tobi) Daniels, 37, and his son Oscar, 16, started restoring tractors a few years ago, and more recently decided to start documenting their work on YouTube.

At just six years old, Tobi was given the opportunity to ride in a friends tractor, but he could never justify having his own, until he started to restore them with Oscar - who has a passion for fixing engines.

Their first project was a Grey Ferguson TED 20 from Tammar Vintage Tractors. Once they had completed the project, they took the tractor to a show and ended up with a rosette.

Tobi soon decided to restore another tractor and this time took on the challenge of restoring a Ferguson TE20 Continental from Easterbrook Tractors. But this one was in much worse condition and so they asked around for some help and advice.

The pair soon received advice from fellow YouTuber 'Rory's Workshop', and they were sent a manual from Haynes. They were also given tools from Silverline Tools, paints from Johnstones, rust converter from Built Hamber, a distributor from Ignition Parts UK and Agriparts UK offered assistance with parts.

After 16 months of hard work, the pair finally restored the tractor and called it 'Jasmine'.

Onto their next project and the team are restoring a Fordson Diesel major for the charity Tourettes Action. Tobi and his step son Harry both have tourettes syndrome, so the cause it close to their hearts.

Tobi said: "We are overjoyed with the result. This project was brave, but it is testament of what can be achieved with patience, perseverance, and help from ones friends."
