A LEGEND of horse racing returned to Aintree Racecourse, where he landed Grade 1 success in the Betway Top Novices' Hurdle in 2018 and won again!
Named Lalor, the Somerset-based horse returned to Aintree Racecourse to compete last week, winning the RoR National Dressage Intro Restricted Championship 2024 on Thursday 22 August.
After retiring from racing in March earlier this year, the legendary horse is now thriving in dressage competition.
Winning last week, the 12-year-old dressage competitor’s record was solid when competing.
Lalor had only been beaten once in his first eight dressage events ahead of the National Championships.
Former racing trainer Kayley Woolacott and her sister Steph Jones now look after Lalor as he enjoys a second career in dressage.
Steph Jones said: “Lalor will always mean the world to our family for all that he achieved, he carried us through a very dark time, and we’ll be forever grateful to him.
“Aintree has always been a special place to us, as the home of the biggest wins.
"Lalor has taken to his new life with such ease and enjoys his dressage – he’s pretty good at it too.”
