Over the past couple of months, all 37 clubs that make up the Devon Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFC) have been busy holding their Annual General Meetings.
This is an opportunity for each club to look back on their achievements throughout the year and elect a new team of officers for the year ahead.
This month’s Devon YFC ‘Club of the Month’ is a club that have hit the ground running and have already planned a lot for the months ahead – Bampton YFC from the Exe Valley Group.
At their recent AGM they reported on some of their main achievements over the past year which included a popular tractor run and their big barn bash which was held in September.
They also elected Charlie Down as their new Chairman and Holly Partridge as Secretary - together they will lead Bampton YFC over the next 12 months.
Holly Partridge, Bampton YFC’s Club Secretary, says: “We’re excited to get started and have already started planning activities and events for our 2024 to 2025 club programme.
“We’ll be starting the YFC year with a new members evening, as well as a pumpkin carving evening and charity quiz night. As we get closer to Christmas we also plan to hold a Christmas bingo for the community in Bampton, as well as lots of other social events for our members.
“Being a member of YFC gives you so many opportunities and our aim is to take on as many of them as possible, put on more events and get more involved as a club.
“We’re looking forward to holding more events in the community, as it brings everyone together and gives local people the opportunity to find out what being a part of YFC is truly about.”
New members evenings have been happening across the county, but if you’ve missed one in your local area, it’s not too late to join!
If you’re aged 10 to 28, there are 37 YFC clubs across the county of Devon that are always happy to welcome new members throughout the year. To join your local YFC club, take a look at the Devon YFC website – www.devonyfc.co.uk.
