Popular BBC show Countryfile was in Cornwall this Sunday explaining how you can grow your tea at home.
The BBC One show features the people, places and stories making news in the British countryside.
Last week, it was in Cornwall, visiting the Tregothnan Estate near Truro - the first-ever tea company in Cornwall and England to have created a range of black tea, green tea and herbal infusions homegrown on British soil.
During the episode broadcast this Sunday (October 27) farmer turned TV presenter Adam Henson was shown how to plant a tea bush, to grow your own tea at home.
He also saw Tregothnan’s unique tea picking robot in action – the first of its kind in the world.
Tregothnan said: “Catch us on BBC Countryfile this Sunday night!
Sharing the news with its subscribers,“Adam Henson will show you how to plant a Tea Bush this Sunday night on BBC Countryfile, with a little help!
“Now is the time to get your own tea bushes, ideal to grow in your garden or give as gifts. We will then show you how to make your own tea leaves.
“Adam is more than happy to let the leaf plucking be done by the unique robotic tea picker, the first of its kind in the world.”
Tregothnan sells tea bushes from its website, with a large plant costing £30.
“Planting tea now means you'll have a fresh supply of leaves,” said the estate.
“Tregothnan tea bush makes a unique Christmas gift for the person who has everything. Our hardy selections are bred for UK conditions and can grow almost anywhere in the UK.
“All of our tea bushes are sold with a handy set of guidelines, including leaf to cup instructions so you can brew your own.”
