A rural surveyor has joined the Sedgemoor office of a property and land agency.
Abbie Lewis MRICS has joined the professional, agricultural, and farm agency department at Greenslade Taylor Hunt (GTH).
She has worked in and around Somerset for six years and will focus on Red Book valuations, estate management, property agency, tenancy matters, and environmental schemes.
Abbie is a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) and has a degree in rural land management from the Royal Agricultural University.
She said: "I was interested in a career in rural surveying as I wanted a professional career, but one that worked with rural assets and people."
Tom Mellor, a partner at GTH, said: "I have no doubt that Abbie will prove to be a valuable addition to the team here at Sedgemoor.
"We act for an abundance of different client types from Sedgemoor, ranging from advising landed estates encompassing thousands of acres to new farm entrants looking at grant funding for livestock equipment.
"Each day is different and a broad knowledge is needed to navigate the demands of our clients, which we are sure Abbie has the required skillset for."
Before joining GTH, Abbie worked in the agricultural department of a Somerset firm and more recently for another firm in Somerset in their professional department, focusing on estate management.
She said: "In my career to date I have particularly enjoyed working with clients to achieve their desired outcome and providing advice to maximise their assets whether that is to look at increasing income through environmental schemes, diversification or planning options but also with ongoing management with my background in estate management."
Away from work, Abbie enjoys rural pursuits such as riding, attending point-to-points, and walking her dogs, Mabel and Marg.
