A young man has been arrested in Dorset in connection with the theft of plant machinery in September.

The 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

Searches were carried out by officers from Dorset and Avon and Somerset’s Rural Crime Teams. 

They discovered a quantity of cash, which they seized, as well as a piece of surveyors equipment – worth around £8,000 – that is suspected to be stolen.

This investigation is in relation to the alleged theft of plant equipment reported to Dorset Police in September. 

The man has been released on police bail while rural crime officers continue their enquiries.
